Here's how Green Tea improves your health:
- Inhibit excess body fat by improved circulation.
- Help suppress appetite and cravings.
- Slow the aging process by inhibiting “free radical” damage to cells.
- Aids in weight loss by burning calories.
- Helps to strengthen cardiovascular and immune system health.
- Helps maintain cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar, within their normal limits and stimulates the immune system.
Green Tea provides 10-40mg of polyphenols (a class of bioflavonoids) and has antioxidant activity greater than a serving of spinach, broccoli, carrots or strawberries. Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), a potent antioxidant, makes up about 10-50% of the total catechin content in Green Tea and is the most powerful of the catechins – with antioxidant activity about 25-100 times more potent than vitamins C and E. There are many kinds of polyphenols but the catechin polyphenols unique to Green Tea is the strongest, and most remarkable of all.
Please note, since Green Tea has a relatively short shelf life, it is important to obtain authentic products from reliable sources. You'll want to avoid, at all costs, Green Teas that are old, and those that are not sealed in airtight packaging with the oxygen replaced with nitrogen. Even at well known coffee chains, the "Green Tea" you find may be inferior. Extended Health's Green Tea is the preferred choice of Beyond Health nutritionists.
