Mold Allergies and Vitamin D (Prevents and treatments)

Vitamin D and Mold Allergies: New Insight Into Immune Balance Emerging research continues to show that vitamin D plays a critical role in immune regulation and new findings suggest it may be especially important for people sensitive to common molds. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation found that individuals who developed allergies to common molds tended to have lower vitamin D levels compared to healthy controls. What the Study Found Researchers observed that vitamin D influenced immune activity in two important ways: Reduced allergy-driving proteinsVitamin D helped lower the production of certain proteins involved in triggering allergic inflammation. Enhanced protective immune responsesAt the same time, vitamin D increased the production of proteins that strengthened the body’s resistance to mold-related allergic reactions. This dual action suggests that vitamin D doesn’t merely suppress symptoms it helps rebalance the immune response. Why This…

Vitamin D and Asthma...Deficiency linked to asthma

Beyond Health’s Vitamin D Supporting Immune and Respiratory Health Vitamin D plays a far broader role in human health than bone maintenance alone. In recent years, a growing body of research has highlighted its importance in immune regulation and inflammatory balance, particularly in the respiratory system. Multiple reviews of the medical literature have observed an association between low vitamin D status and impaired respiratory health. A 2010 study published in the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology reported that vitamin D deficiency was correlated with increased airway inflammation, reduced lung function, and poorer symptom control in individuals with asthma. How Vitamin D Supports Immune Balance Vitamin D appears to influence respiratory health through its effects on the immune system. Research suggests that adequate vitamin D levels help: Regulate inflammatory signaling Reduce the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines Support the production of anti-inflammato…

Can Taking Showers Cause Cancer? Find Out Here!

Can Taking Showers Cause Cancer? Find Out Here!

Taking showers can cause cancer! Twenty years ago the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) placed hot showers on their list of cancer sources. The main culprit was chlorine. Chlorine is a poisonous chemical, a bleaching agent. Sure, it does a great job of killing living things in our water, like bacteria and viruses. The problem is we’re living things too. Chlorine gas was used as a deadly weapon during World War I! Chlorine is a pro-oxidant that causes free radical damage in the body, a major factor in aging and in every kind of disease. Chlorine and its by-products have been linked with various forms of cancer, neurological issues, reproductive problems, heart disease (including atherosclerosis and hypertension), decreased immunity, allergies, hypothyroidism and lung problems. When you smell chlorine in your shower, it’s because it’s escaping into the air as chlorine gas. Since showers are usually poorly ventilated, chlorine gas concentrations can be quite high. In…

Chemicals in Tap Water Linked to Food Allergies

Environmental toxins are overwhelming our immune and detoxification systems to make us the most allergy prone people in world history.  Simply drinking a glass of tap water can bombard your body with chemicals that have been linked to allergies and asthma. Allergist Elina Jerschow, MD, and colleagues at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York have linked chlorine-related chemicals known as dichlorophenols, which are found in tap water and in pesticides, with both allergies and asthma. These researchers found that people with the highest levels of dichlorophenols were 80% more likely to have a food allergy and 61% more likely to have both a food allergy and an environmental allergy (like pollen).  Subsequent research found a similar association between asthma and high levels of dichlorophenols in the urine. While more studies are needed to prove the chemicals cause either allergies or asthma, population studies have shown that there is a similar rise in bo…

Glutathione and Immunity

Glutathione and Immunity

Do you seem to catch every cold or flu going around? Do you have an ongoing infection, like the yeast infection candida, that you can’t get rid of?  Or do you have the opposite problem—an overactive immune system leading to allergies or to an autoimmune disease? Do you have, or have you had cancer?  These are all indications that your immune system isn’t protecting you as it should, and it’s likely that a primary reason for that is that you don’t have enough glutathione. Glutathione is a critical protein that your body produces. It can also be obtained from food and supplements.  Glutathione has been called “the mother antioxidant” because our antioxidant system can’t function without it. Neither can our detoxification system. And neither can our immune system. Glutathione has the following six essential roles in immune function: Glutathione patrols the bloodstream directly killing many pathogens before they can begin…

Why Allergies Are Getting Worse: Key Insights Revealed

Climate change is making life tougher for those with allergies, but it’s possible to be allergy-free. A European study published online concluded that allergic reactions to ragweed (the most common cause of what is known as “hay fever”) are in fact getting worse; people who are already sensitive to ragweed are becoming more sensitive, and more and more people who never had problems before are becoming allergic. In fact, in 25-40 years, these researchers estimate the population of Europeans sensitive to ragweed will double, from 33 million to 77 million. Although this study was done in Europe, similar factors, associated with climate change, are at work here in the US. As explained by Lewis Ziska, a plant physiologist at the US Department of Agriculture, warmer temperatures and higher levels of carbon dioxide have encouraged ragweed growth, producing a larger plant and about ten times more ragweed pollen. In addition, it appears that this pollen is a more potent allergen. The Europea…

Effective Tips for Recovering from Allergic Reactions

Get the inflammation and acidity downSome allergens are unavoidable. But allergic reactions are very taxing to the body and getting them under control as soon as you can will not only make you more comfortable, it will prevent damage to your tissues.Vitamin C and quercetin, which is a natural antihistamine, are a powerful combination in subduing inflammation. Take maximum doses to nip those allergic reactions in the bud.Allergic reactions make the body acidic, further exacerbating inflammation and damage to body tissues. Many biochemical processes are hampered in an acidic environment. Take one or two magnesium capsules with a teaspoon of choline citrate to restore a healthy alkalinity. You can check your pH levels with pH paper. For taking magnesium with choline citrate to restore body alkalinity click through to these instructions.Taking enzymes between meals breaks up immune complexes that are formed by allergic reactions, which are damaging to the body.Avoiding allergens where you…

Essential Guide to Childhood Immunizations for Parents

Vaccines, Children, and Modern Medicine What Parents Should Know to Make Informed Health Decisions The Big Picture Childhood vaccination is one of the most widely discussed topics in modern healthcare. Parents today are more informed, more proactive, and more invested than ever in understanding what goes into their children’s bodies. With rising access to information—and misinformation—it’s essential to separate emotion, marketing, and headlines from scientific evidence. Industry Growth vs. Public Health Purpose Yes, vaccines are a large global industry. Like pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and supplements, vaccines are part of a multi-billion-dollar healthcare economy. But market size alone does not determine medical value. Many life-saving interventions—from insulin to antibiotics—are also major industries. Key distinction:Profitability ≠ effectiveness or ineffectiveness.Medical value must always be evaluated by clinical evidence, not revenue…
