Is Your Blood Too Sticky?

Millions of Americans, especially older Americans, are on drugs called blood-thinners, usually the drug Coumadin (warfarin). Many more take a daily aspirin to thin their blood.Although these drugs are called blood thinners, what they actually do is make blood platelets less sticky and apt to form clots. Since sticky blood platelets and clots are a major factor in increasing blood viscosity, these drugs have the effect of thinning the blood. What’s wrong with thick, sticky blood? Is your blood too sticky? And if so, are drugs the answer, or are there more natural alternatives?Problems with Sticky BloodClotting is crucial to survival. Without good clotting ability, a small cut could lead to massive blood loss, and even death. However blood that clots too easily or fails to break down clots that are no longer useful is equally life-threatening: an undesirable clot that blocks an artery can cause a fatal heart attack or stroke. While some people suffer from genetic clotting defects that mak…

Organic Foods....do they deliver?

Conventional thinking is that organic foods cost more, but are no better for you than conventional foods. Numerous studies have proven that organic foods are better, and now a new study in the journal Public Library of Science adds to these prior findings. Researcher John Reganold, professor of soil science at Washington State University, conducted a comprehensive analysis of strawberries, both commercial and organic. Here is what Reganold and his team found: Organic strawberries contain far more antioxidants, vitamin C and beneficial polyphenolic compounds than conventional strawberries; and they have a longer shelf life. In addition, organic strawberries taste better overall, in terms of sweetness and general strawberry flavor. The soils were also measured. The organic soils tested extremely rich in key nutrients, enzymes and biological and chemical elements that were lacking in conventional fields. The study also revealed that organic produce can be raised with the same, or ev…

Fragrances and Toxins....Most are toxic

For those who may have received perfume, cologne or aftershave for Christmas–beware. Even expensive perfumes are usually made with a toxic soup of dangerous and untested chemicals that can produce problems from allergies to hormone disruption. The problem is that manufacturers are exempt from listing the ingredients of anything labeled as a "fragrance," and many of the ingredients used to make fragrances are toxic. A recent study by the Environmental Working Group and the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics had well-known, name-brand fragrances analyzed for their chemical content. The group sent 17 perfumes to an independent testing laboratory, and found some surprises that you need to know about. Here is what they found: The average perfume contained 10 known allergens that can trigger reactions from asthma to headaches to contact dermatitis. Even more disturbing, the researchers uncovered 10 chemicals known to disrupt the hormonal (endocrine) system. Each perfume contained an average o…

Dental Fluorosis...Now at 41 percent...

A new study, "Prevalence and Severity of Dental Fluorosis in the United States, 1999-2004," has estimated that dental fluorosis now affects 41 percent of adolescents aged 12-15 in the U.S. Fluorosis is mottling of dental enamel. It is characterized by a white chalky appearance to the enamel, whichgradually undergoes black and brown discoloration, as well as cracking and pitting of the teeth. Fluorosis is caused by a child receiving too muchfluoride during tooth development. Dentists will tell their patients that fluorosis is just a cosmetic problem. It is not. Fluorosis is the external manifestation of toxic fluoride poisoning. The bones are also being affected. This is called skeletal fluorosis, and it often results in a misdiagnosis of osteoporosis. Fluoride does not prevent tooth decay. It is a dangerous toxin that must be avoided. Do not drink fluoridated water, and do not use toothpaste that contains fluoride.…

I have a low thyroid. My doctor says I do not have Hashimoto’s disease. Do you have any suggestions?

As a reminder, there is only one disease, only two causes of disease and only one solution to disease—to get well. The two causes of disease are deficiency and toxicity. A common cause of low thyroid is iodine deficiency. Your iodine level should be measured, and Beyond Health can supply you with a test to do this. If your iodine is low, you can supplement to bring the iodine up to normal levels. However, even if you have enough iodine, you can still have problems if the action of the iodine is being blocked. For example, if you eat a lot of bread, this can be a problem. Bread is loaded with bromine, which is used as a dough conditioner, and bromine blocks the action of iodine. Likewise, fluoride blocks iodine as well. Unless you are real careful, you will be getting excessive fluoride in your tap water, toothpaste, food and tea. I suggest you measure your iodine, supplement if necessary and reduce your exposure to bromine and fluoride. Beyond Health’s Reverse Osmosis System i…

I have a six-year-old son who has just tested positive for a skin TB test. I am not happy with the antibiotic treatment recommended by the doctor, and I am looking for other options.

First you have to determine if any treatment is needed. The skin reaction could be a false positive and no treatment is required. The first thing to do is ask for a blood test. Ask to have a MELISA test. If the test is negative, there is no need for further action. If the test is positive, then you need to look further. If there is an active infection, then there are a variety of treatments available that do not involve dangerous prescription drugs like antibiotics. Vitamin C is always essential, and treatment with intravenous vitamin C would be one option to consider. Another option is vitamin D. A study in Indonesia cured 100 percent of the patients, with several forms of active tuberculosis, by using 10,000 IU per day of vitamin D. Another option would be to find an M.D. who uses Photoluminescence Therapy (UBI treatment of blood). This involves removing some blood, exposing it to ultraviolet light, and putting it back in the body. In the early days when this therapy was develo…

I am concerned about Alzheimer’s disease, and I read that curcumin can prevent Alzheimer’s. I was wondering if that is true and if I should be taking it?

What you read is correct. Recent studies have discovered that curcumin reduces the amyloid protein plaques associated with Alzheimer’s disease. Curcumin reduced the accumulation of amyloid deposits in animal brains injected with amyloid, and reduced the loss of proteins in the spaces between brain cells. By reducing the loss of protein in synapses, curcumin helps maintain memory. Curcumin also appears to act as an antiinflammatory, which reduces inflammation in neurologic tissue, protecting it from oxidative damage. India has the lowest rate of Alzheimer’s in the world. It is not a coincidence that the Indians have a high consumption of curry which contains turmeric, the source of curcumin. I take curcumin every day myself, and I recommend it to you. It not only protects against Alzheimer’s, it also protects against a variety of diseases including heart disease and cancer. Curcumin was found to be safe in human clinical trials with doses up to 10 grams per day. Dosages for optimum b…

Vitamin D and Asthma...Deficiency linked to asthma

Beyond Health's Vitamin D Recent reviews of the medical literature indicate that vitamin D deficiency is linked to asthma. A 2010 study in the Allergy, Asthma & Immunology that vitamin D deficiency may be linked to airway inflammation, decreased lung function and poor asthma control. It appears that vitamin D helps improve asthma symptoms by preventing the release of inflammatory cytokines and increasing the secretion of anti-inflammatory proteins. Vitamin D is found in foods, such as eggs and fish. It is also produced in the body after sun exposure. Most Americans are deficient in vitamin D, especially at the end of the winter. Supplementing daily with Beyond Health’s Vitamin D3 Formula is recommended.…

Drinking Water

Reverse Osmosis Water Filter Do you know what’s in your drinking water? Many of you never even think about the water in your tap or plastic bottles. At Beyond Health, we do the thinking for you and have some startling news to share. As you know, adequate water intake helps rid your body of toxins. Shockingly, almost all of our water is toxic as it adds poison to your body and is unfit to drink. Toxins from landfill runoff, sewage, industrial chemicals, and even the potential radiation contamination from Japan all attribute to pollutants that contaminate our water. About 80% of the water in the US is chlorinated. Chlorine is an extremely toxic chemical that forms carcinogenic compounds. Fluoride is another chemical that is even more toxic than lead and slightly less toxic than arsenic. All of which have traces in our drinking water. A way to prevent the toxins in your water is investing in a Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration system (only pennies a day). This system will eliminate up…

EPA RELEASES DATA ON MILK

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) continues to release new data showing that various milk and water supply samples from across the US are testing increasingly high for radioactive elements such as Iodine-131, Cesium-134, and Cesium-137, all of which are being emitted from the ongoing Fukushima Daiichia nuclear fallout. As of April 10, 2011, 23 US water supplies have tested positive for radioactive Iodine-131, and worst of all, milk samples from at least three US locations have tested positive for Iodine-131 at levels exceeding EPA maximum containment levels (MCL). As far as the water supplies are concerned, it is important to note that the EPA is only testing for radioactive Iodine-131. There are no readings or data available for cesium, uranium, or plutonium -- all of which are being continuously emitted from Fukushima, as far as we know -- even though these elements are all much more deadly than Iodine-131. Beyond Health have precautions available to you. Please…

Nearly Half of U.S. Meat Tainted With Drug-Resistant Bacteria

Here’s something to think about the next time you stop by the meat counter at your local grocery store – there may be drug-resistant strains of bacteria lurking in that steak or chicken. A study by the Translational Genomics Research Institute, found that Staphylococcus aureus – a bacteria that causes most staph infections including skin infections, pneumonia and blood poisoning – are present in meat and poultry from U.S. grocery stores at "unexpectedly high rates." Researchers found nearly half of the meat and poultry samples — 47 percent — were contaminated with S. aureus, and more than half of those bacteria — 52 percent — were resistant to at least three classes of antibiotics. For the study, researchers looked at 136 samples involving 80 brands of beef, chicken, pork and turkey from 26 grocery stores in five cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Flagstaff and Washington, D.C. Experts say although Staph can be killed with proper cooking, it still may p…

Olive Oil

Why Beyond Health Olive Oil? For those who have asked this question, the answer lies in Beyond Health’s mission: To improve the health of the American people by supplying cuttingedge health education and carefully researched, world class, healthsupporting products. Toward this end, Beyond Health searches for the highest-quality products and makes them available to the public—all in one place. This is a unique and valuable service, and selecting healthy olive oil is just one example of that service. The health benefits of olive oil are well established, which is why I recommend it. The challenge is to find real olive oil. The world is awash in phony food products. For example, new genetic tests indicate that 77 percent of the fish sold in the U.S. as red snapper consists of other illegally mislabeled species. The problems with olive oil are far worse. A 1996 study by the FDA found that 96 percent of the extra virgin oils they tested had been adulterated with cheap, inferior oils…

I have Multiple Sclerosis. What is necessary for me to start my road to recovery?

Raymond has worked with many MS patients whose MS has gone into remission and not returned. We believe that there is only one disease – malfunctioning cells – and only two reasons cells malfunction – toxicity and nutrient deficiency. Multiple sclerosis, like any other disease, has these two causes and can be reversed with our approach. To start, we always recommend reading Raymond’s book, "Never Be Sick Again". Upon completion, implementation of our solid supplement program starting with our Ultimate Wellness Kit is vital. I also suggest to people with MS to add the Basic or Comprehensive Brain Support Kit. Secondly, having your Vitamin D levels tested. They need to be in the "high normal range. (Note: Request the serum 25 (OH) D test NOT the 1.25(OH) 2D test). Although not by any means a complete answer to multiple sclerosis, recent research has shown that deficiency in D may be a cause as most people who have MS are deficient. Whereas, taking it has not been shown to reverse MS…

DEPRESSION – PRESCRIPTIONS ARE FOOLING PEOPLE – LOOK AT OUR NATURAL SOLUTION

According to a study published in the Archives of General Psychiatry, approximately 10 percent of Americans are taking antidepressant medications. This means that over 31 million Americans are gobbling Prozac, Zoloft, Norpramin, Luvox, Paxil, and other antidepressant psychiatric drugs like M & M's. This drug use accounts for billions of dollars in pharmaceutical sales annually. Yet according to a landmark study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association say that antidepressant medications work - as well as placebos and not more. In other words, people in depression studies who are given sugar pills instead of antidepressant drugs do as well as the group who gets the drugs. Before you ask yourself whether you should simply take a Tic Tac instead of a Paxil, there is more disheartening news about these drugs. Many Americans are taking antidepressant medications instead of changing their own behavior or life circumstances. According to Maryland medical doctor Ronal…

Aging Process and Dying

We don’t fully understand the aging process. Some people believe that our cells are programmed to divide only so many times and then they stop. However, we do know that the a group of 30,000 people called the Hunzas who lived on the mountain peaks of the Himalayas, lived to be an average age of 120 without being sick a day in their lives. We recognize there is nothing that can be done about getting chronologically older, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have to become biologically older. Raymond, at age 70+ has the arteries of a 30-year-old, and he hopes that at his next check-up he will have the arteries of a man younger than 30. Our mission at Beyond Health is about slowing down the aging process and staying healthy for life.…

Treating Alzheimer's - With Coconut Oil

Decades ago, type 2 diabetes used to be called "sugar diabetes." There was a reason for this. Eating sugar causes diabetes. Too bad we have moved away from that accurate description of this disease. However, sugar causes another form of diabetes—diabetes of the brain. We call it Alzheimer’s disease.Diabetes is the condition where your body’s response to insulin is weakened, and sugar is no longer adequately transported into cells. Insulin resistance is the result of constantly assaulting your body with the dangerous toxin known as sugar. Excessive sugar, especially fructose, and grain consumption are the driving factors behind insulin resistance. Grains, even whole grains, will flood the body with too much sugar and cause insulin resistance. Insulin resistance contributes massively to inflammation, and inflammation will damage and degenerate your brain.Your brain is almost totally dependant on sugar to make the energy it needs to function. Constantly assaulting the brain with excessive…

Question: My wife has anal cancer. I have read that low doses of Nexatrone (LDN) would be helpful. What is your opinion on this medication? In addition, how does he feel about Joanna Budwig’s flax and cottage cheese mix?

Raymond has worked with many people to reverse cancer. We know it is possible as people have followed the plan that Raymond demonstrates in his book (Never Be Sick Again). I believe you are asking about Naltrexone? Very low-doses of Naltrexone have been used to increase endorphins. Although it is used at very low doses, it is not something that Raymond recommends. He believes that Naltrexone, like other drugs, puts a toxic load on the body without getting to the root of the problem. For cancer, he believes it is especially important to eliminate "The Big Four": sugar, white flour, processed oils and dairy/excess animal protein. In addition, I recommend our Life Essentials Comprehensive Kit plus our Cancer Support Kit as a comprehensive supplement program. Be sure to read his upcoming book on cancer. Raymond considers the Johanna Budwig’s product useful for many people; however the dairy aspect can be problematic. More than half the population is allergic to dairy. Having an al…

I have a four year old who has stomach troubles. Do you suggest your Children’s multi vitamin and a digestive enzyme?

We offer two different enzyme formulations. The Biozymes would be best for him. Begin with a half a tablet and if there are no issues, give him the full tablet. Raymond has found that many children’s digestive problems are caused by a sensitivity/allergy to dairy products. Have you tried taking him off dairy? Other common allergens/sensitivities are: eggs, corn, soy, wheat and other gluten grains. Nuts, seeds, and grains can be difficult to digest. You can soak, dehydrate or even bake; all these methods will be for digestion. Lastly, has he been given antibiotics in the past? If so, he probably needs to replenish the good bacteria in this intestines that help to digest food. Raymond recommends our Probiotic Formula. Start on ¼ capsule a day and work up to 1 capsule per day.…

Aluminum Woks

As long as the anodized finish remains in tact, you are protected and will not get aluminum in your food. However, if the finish gets damaged, your aluminum wok will no longer be safe to use. Aluminum ingested in food is in a different form from the aluminum you would ingest from the cookware. Although you would be ingesting much less from the cookware than you would be getting from food, it would be in a dangerous form that would bioaccumulate in your tissues.…

Japanese Radiation

BHN has received many emails and phone calls from people concerned about the radiation leaking from the Japanese nuclear reactors. There is no question that dangerous amounts of radioactive particles have been released and have been carried in the prevailing jet stream winds impacting the west coast from Los Angeles to Alaska and the rest of the world as well. While government officials try to play down the danger, radiation researchers say there is no such thing as a safe level of radiation. Radiation generates massive amounts of free radicals, which do oxidative damage to DNA and cause cancer years later. This is why it is a good idea to maximize your overall antioxidant defenses. The problems with radioactive iodine are well known. Japanese health authorities are passing out iodine tablets to those in the vicinity of these reactors. Because most Americans are deficient in iodine, absorbing the radioactive iodine isotopes can be a real problem. The body will absorb the isotopes wh…

Fluroide - Damaging the Brain

Fluoride is one of the biggest medical frauds in history. Fluoride is an extremely powerful toxin that has for more than a half century been falsely promoted as preventing dental cavities. Fluoride causes a wide array of severe health problems, including cancer, hyperactivity and/or lethargy, muscle disorders, and damage to immunity, teeth and bones. And as studies continue to confirm, fluoride damages the brain. A recent study in the Journal of Hazardous Materials concluded that chronic exposure to elevated levels of fluoride results in decreased memory and learning ability. Levels of fluoride in drinking water, within the range of levels currently allowed, negatively impact children’s intelligence. Numerous studies in humans have found an association between high levels of fluoride in drinking water and reduced intelligence. More than 100 animal studies have linked fluoride to brain damage. The Centers for Disease Control reports that 41 percent of 12 to 15 year-olds have dental f…
