Fluoride is one -- the average tube of toothpaste contains enough fluoride to kill a small child! Fluoride leads to all kinds of disease, including cancer, brain damage, thyroid damage, and weakened bones and teeth. SLS and Triclosan are also found in most toothpaste. In one study, people with recurrent canker sores were given the same toothpaste for 3 months except that one contained SLS and the other didn't.
