Could Your Health Problem Actually Be a Vitamin B12 Deficiency?

. . . an epidemic of misdiagnoses
Sally Pacholok was a recent nursing grad when she diagnosed her own vitamin B12 deficiency and pernicious anemia. For the next 25 years she couldn't believe her ears when doctors around her continued to misdiagnose debilitating conditions which failed to improve because they were in fact symptoms of B12 deficiency. Finally, she and her husband, Jeffrey Stuart, wrote Could it Be B12? An Epidemic of Misdiagnoses to raise awareness of this problem among health providers and consumers alike.
Symptoms of vitamin B12 range from the subtle to the disabling and include pain, numbness and tingling in the extremities, weakness and fatigue, imbalance, confusion, agitation, cognitive problems like memory loss and diminished mental acuity, dementia, insomnia, anxiety, depression, tremors and incontinence. Unfortunately, Pacholok notes, medications are given to suppress these symptoms, masking the deficiency. If caught early, symptoms of B12 deficiency can be reversed, but if the deficiency is masked and thus allowed to continue, irreversible paralysis, dementia and brain damage in children can occur.
Preventing vitamin B12 deficiencies from occurring is the best course. A 2000 government sponsored study found almost 40% of the population low on B12. Taking 2 tablets of our Beyond Health Multi daily is the best possible insurance against B12 and other deficiencies.
Because I'm over fifty, I take one sublingual of our new and improved B12/Folate formulation daily for extra protection, and if you're also over fifty, I advise you to do the same. We've been writing a lot about radiation protection lately, and extra B12/Folate helps with that too.
If you're suffering from any of the following conditions, include B12/Folate in your supplement program: any kind of brain, neurological or neuromuscular problem; pain; depression or anxiety; cancer; autoimmune illness; chronic fatigue, multiple chemical sensitivity or fibromyalgia; heart disease; eye problems like macular degeneration or cataracts; low energy; low immunity; congested liver; and infertility (male). B12 can also help with: asthma, diabetes, DNA repair, hair loss, hearing loss, insomnia, menopause, periodontal problems, skin problems like psoriasis and eczema, sugar/alcohol addiction, weak adrenals/stress support and tinnitus. Call our office at 1-800-250-3063 for help in planning a complete supplement program to address your concerns.
Of course all B12 supplements aren't the same. There are only two forms of B12 we recommend: Methylcobalamin is the form used by the body; hydroxocobalamin is a storage form from which methylcobalamin is made. Our new formula combines fast-acting methylcobalamin with long-lasting hydroxocobalamin for maximum coverage. (Cyanocobalamin, used in many lower quality supplements is not a good source of B12 and can even break down into toxic cyanide in the body.)
In addition, our B12 comes in a sublingual tablet. This allows the B12 to be absorbed directly through the mucous membranes of the mouth, and avoids various absorption problems caused by low stomach acid, lack of intrinsic factor, leaky gut and gut inflammation.
