I'm Too (Fill in the Blank) to Exercise

. . . a rebounder could be just what you need! Some of you may have conditions that greatly limit your ability to exercise. Arthritis, a “bad back”, sciatica, severe fatigue, frailty, considerable excess weight and other handicaps can make you feel that exercise is beyond you. In such cases, doing infrared saunas can provide some of the benefits of exercise, not just the sweating, which is so beneficial to detoxification, but also by dilating blood vessels, saunas improve circulation and reduce blood pressure. If you’re trying to lose excess weight, saunas can burn up to 600 calories in just half an hour! Meanwhile, they can improve energy and alleviate joint stiffness. But no matter what condition you’re in, moving is still important for you. Spending a few minutes several times a day moving what you can move comfortably and easily – never pushing yourself into pain – is extremely valuable and can lead to gradually extending your range of movement. If you’re able to stand, I’d recommend a rebounder, and even if you can’t stand you can sit on the edge of the trampoline with your feet on the floor, and bounce that way! Now rebounding may be the last thing you’d think of, especially if you’ve got painful joints or a bad back. Doctors may even have told you to stay away from trampolines because they can cause further injury. But if you have the right rebounder (like the rebounder we carry that provides adequate support) and approach your exercise on it in the right way, you could benefit enormously. In fact many people who started rebounding in an extremely debilitated condition have reported miraculous transformations. You just have to be patient, and take a careful, gradual approach. You should also get our optional balance bar to hold onto. With the support of the balance bar, begin by bouncing very gently with your feet kept flat on the mat (called the “baby bounce”) for a few minutes a day. Just a few minutes of the baby bounce is enough to encourage better function in your cells. If you have painful joints or a bad back, doing the baby bounce gently and sensitively for short periods of time will begin to pump nourishment and healing into the cells in your joints. I’ve known several people with debilitating back pain from herniated disks who have completely eliminated their pain and disability this way. They started with the baby bounce and after a while moved on to shifting their weight from side to side while alternating lifting the heel of one and then the other foot, and eventually to easy jogging. They extended the length of their sessions so that eventually they were jogging half an hour with no pain. The right rebounder is essential. The mat has to have the right amount of give, but not too much because then it doesn’t offer enough support. Cheap trampolines and even some of the more expensive rebounders don’t do this. Our rebounder has strong springs that absorb stress and cushion your weight so that additional circulation and stimulation help to repair joint damage. Improperly made units will do just the opposite – jarring and abrupt bouncing can cause joint and nerve damage and cause already damaged joints to deteriorate further. Movement is life. At the molecular level, movement is the essence of life, and moving our bodies is essential to health. Find enjoyable ways to integrate movement into your life, and you’ll enhance the life-force within you.
