Protect Your Brain from Pesticides

. . . with an infrared sauna Some pesticides take up residence in human fatty tissue, where they persist and accumulate year in and year out. According to chemical sensitivity expert Dr. William Rea, two organochlorine pesticides are detected in the average person, whereas those with multiple chemical sensitivities will generally have three or more. According to the Pesticide Action Network, although many of the worst organochlorine pesticides, like DDT, have been banned for decades, they continue to show up in food samples tested by the US Food and Drug Administration. These chemicals are associated with many chronic diseases including various types of cancer, neurological damage (several are known neurotoxins) Parkinson’s disease, birth defects, respiratory illness, and abnormal immune system function. Low levels in the womb can cause damage to the reproductive, neurological and immune systems of the developing fetus. The best way to eliminate organochlorine pesticides from your body is with regular saunas in an infrared sauna. It’s best to stay in the sauna a long time because oils take more time than sweat to ooze out onto the skin. Gradually work up to staying in a sauna at about 115° F for an hour or more on a regular basis. I have been doing this twice a week for almost 30 years, and my pesticide levels are too low to measure. Be sure to wash off in the shower after your sauna with a non-toxic Beyond Health approved soap or the toxins on your skin may be reabsorbed. Many people with high heavy metal, chemical or pesticide toxicity levels may find it difficult to sweat initially; for some people it may require 5-10 sessions before measurable sweat volume is evident. Continuous hydration will help enhance detoxification, but even without measurable sweat, the sauna will help to eliminate toxins through urine, bowel and hair. For more on saunas see my article, “Saunas to the Rescue.” Infrared saunas offer the most comfort as well as the most health benefits. Unfortunately even some infrared saunas are made from toxic materials! To be safe, get an approved infrared sauna through Beyond Health.
