Why You Shouldn't Get a Flu Shot

. . . and what to do instead The pressure to get a flu shot this year has already begun. The CDC is drumming up business for their friends at Big Pharma by scaring everyone with death statistics. Never mind that the vast majority of flu-related deaths occur as complications in people who are already very sick, like the frail elderly. Another CDC spin is on the effectiveness of vaccines in preventing the flu. Here’s the truth. Last year a study in The Lancet reported that vaccines were 60% effective. Notice that wasn’t 100% effective, or even 90% effective. But even 60% is misleading. Only 2.7% of the adult population usually gets the flu. The flu shot reduced that to 1.2%. Whereas they called this a 60% decrease, it’s really a 1.5% decrease! This 1.5% difference could easily be accounted for by the fact that healthier people tend to get flu shots. Meanwhile, you won’t hear much from the CDC about risk. Oh, they’ll admit there are always risks, but they’ll say that the benefits far outweigh any risk. But from where we sit, the opposite is true. Flu shots contain dangerous substances like aluminum, formaldehyde, antibiotics and foreign proteins. Mercury is still found in some flu vaccines. A hundred and forty-nine different kinds of adverse reactions to vaccines have been reported to the government’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). These include seizures, anaphylaxis, onset of autoimmune illness, and death. Vaccines over-stimulate the immune system causing excessive inflammation and, paradoxically, overall immune suppression. They cause abnormalities in arterial function and the oxidation of cholesterol (cholesterol doesn’t cause atherosclerosis and heart attacks unless it is oxidized) that may persist for weeks, increasing risk of heart attack and stroke. Vaccines also trigger brain inflammation, both short and long-term, leading to memory loss, anxiety and depression, paralysis, vertigo, brain irritability and many other acute and chronic neurological disorders. Studies have concluded that getting a flu shot five years in a row increases the risk of developing Alzheimer's by 1000%. When the brain is inflamed, it is much more vulnerable to toxins. Levels of toxins that would normally be tolerated become major problems – for example, pesticides causing Parkinson’s disease. It appears to us that vaccines cause far more death and disability than are caused by the flu. A better way to prevent the flu: Cut out sugar (which depresses immunity) and the rest of The Big Four (processed oils, wheat and refined flour, dairy and excessive animal protein), and eat a plant-based diet with lots of fresh vegetables and two fruit servings a day. Avoid known allergens (every allergic reaction weakens your immunity). Get on a strong, high-quality supplement program, such as Beyond Health's Vitamin C (at least 6 grams of vitamin C daily), Zinc Formula (25 mg daily), and enough vitamin D to get your 25(OH)D blood test results up into the high-normal range. Get plenty of sleep and appropriate exercise. Avoid toxins where possible and sauna regularly if you can. Use stress-reduction techniques. Laugh, love, and appreciate this one precious life we’re each given. And when offered a flu shot . . . just say NO!
