CoQ10 - For the Health of Your Heart

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’re making February “heart health” month at Beyond Health, and there’s no better supplement for heart health than Coenzyme Q10, better known as CoQ10. In a recent study done with a group of middle-aged firefighters, all with mild to moderate
amounts of atherosclerotic plaque in their arteries, CoQ10 and garlic together were able to reduce the progression of the disease almost 4 times better than a placebo. They also significantly reduced a measure of inflammation especially relevant to heart disease, C-reactive protein (CRP).
The men had their plaque and CRP measured. Then some were given a daily regimen of 1,200 mg of Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract (the brand we sell at Beyond Health) and 120 mg of CoQ10 while others were given a placebo for one year. When plaque and CRP were measured at the end of the year, plaque progression was 4 times lower in the group taking the CoQ10 and garlic.
